Trump Demanding Russia be Re-Included in the G7 is an Outrage

Trump Dismantling US Response To Russian Annexation Of Crimea

Rachel Maddow reports on the history of Russia invading & seizing the Ukraine and how Trump’s demanding Russia be re-included in the G7 is an Outrage.

Maddow explains the four columns of the U.S. response to Russia’s annexation of Crimea, sanctions, removal from the G8, military aid to Ukraine, and support to NATO, and notes that the Trump administration has worked to remove all four, most recently by seeking to take money from the European Deterrence Initiative to pay for Trump’s border wall.

Maddow considers the implications of a Washington Post editorial that claims the Trump administration is holding back millions in military aid to Ukraine on the condition that Ukraine produces a negative story about Joe Biden to help Trump’s 2020 campaign.

Americans Paying for Trump’s Trade War With China

Former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich explains why Trump’s trade wars hurt the American economy.

  • The Trump administration’s latest round of tariffs on Chinese imports took effect early Sunday, potentially raising prices Americans pay for some clothes, shoes, sporting goods and other consumer goods.
  • The 15% taxes apply to about $112 billion of Chinese imports.
  • More than two-thirds of the consumer goods the United States imports from China now face higher taxes.

As a result of Trump’s higher tariffs, many U.S. companies have warned that they will be forced to pass on to their customers the higher prices they will pay on Chinese imports. Some businesses, though, may decide in the end to absorb the higher costs rather than raise prices for their customers.

After Sunday’s tariff hike, 87% of textiles and clothing from China and 52% of shoes will be subject to import taxes.

On Dec. 15, the administration is scheduled to impose a second round of 15% tariffs — this time on roughly $160 billion of imports. If those duties take effect, virtually all goods imported from China will be covered.

Trump Separating Families Is Inhumane

Living Conditions At A Migrant Detention Center Are ‘Appalling’

Nationwide outcries have led to the transfer of nearly 300 children to other migrant detention facilities because the living conditions at one location in Clint, Texas, were so bad. NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez and Cal Perry join Stephanie Ruhle and Ali Velshi to break down the latest.

Nearly 2,000 children were separated from their families during a six-week period in April and May, as the Trump Administration cracked down on illegal immigration with a “zero-tolerance” policy of separating families at the border.

Listen to children who’ve just been separated from their parents at the border

ProPublica has obtained audio from inside a U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility, in which children can be heard wailing as an agent jokes, “We have an orchestra here.”

These are the faces of family separation

Meet four families caught in the policy and politics of the Trump administration’s shifting strategies on immigration. Young children who have endured the harsh reality of family separation are at the heart of the CBS News documentary “The Faces of Family Separation,”

Trump launched his campaign for president with the same anti-immigrant rhetoric that is now fueling his nativist policies. Trump has repeatedly and falsely claimed that immigration causes crime, called immigrants “animals” and “an infestation,” and referred to those seeking asylum as invaders. This fear-mongering rhetoric is an attempt to dehumanize immigrants in order to desensitize Americans to Trump’s policies. Since taking office, the Trump administration has:

  • Ripped children from their parents’ arms and forced them into inhumane detention centers;
  • Tear-gassed families with young children at the southern border while trying to legally claim asylum;
  • Shackled pregnant women during and after childbirth;
Abruptly ended DACA and TPS protections for more than one million young people and longtime U.S. residents, throwing families and communities into uncertainty and turmoil; and,
  • Been negligent in the deaths of at least 7 children in the custody of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection after more than a decade in which no child had died.

These anti-immigrant policies are a threat to the social fabric of our nation. As the largest, most diverse, and most progressive generation in American history, we must send a clear and unequivocal message that we oppose the Trump administration’s immoral immigration policies.

Rachel Maddow explains the bizarre rules of the new Texas anti-abortion law that, with the blessing of the Supreme Court, will become the new template for Republican legislatures to effectively ban abortion in the United States by delegating vigilantes to hunt down women to target with lawsuits.

OPINION: The standard for filing a lawsuit is to have “standing” and be able to prove personal damages or injuries. A stranger or someone who cannot prove personal damages as a result of a woman getting an abortion does not have legal standing, so the law is unconstitutional and unenforceable. This is the argument which should have been made instead of the “Roe V. Wade” precedent.

Adam Schiff Calls Republicans Out

Adam Schiff Calls Republicans out for doing nothing about Russian Interference in the 2016 Election and lying by Trump and his associates

“My colleagues might think it’s OK that the Russians offered dirt on the Democratic candidate for president as part of what’s described as the Russian government’s effort to help the Trump campaign,” he said. “My colleagues might think it’s OK that when that was offered to the son of the president, who had a pivotal role in the campaign, that the son did not call the FBI, he did not adamantly refuse that foreign help — no, instead that son said he would ‘love’ the help with the Russians. You might think it was ok that he took that meeting. You might think it’s ok that Paul Manafort, the campaign chair, someone with great experience running campaigns, also took that meeting. You might think it’s ok that the president’s son-in-law also took that meeting. You might think it’s ok that they concealed it from the public. You might think it’s ok that their only disappointment after that meeting was that the dirt they received on Hillary Clinton wasn’t better. You might think it’s OK. I don’t.”

You might think it’s OK that [Flynn] secretly conferred with a Russian ambassador about undermining US sanctions & then lied about it to the FBI. You might say that’s all OK — that’s just what you have to do to win… I think it’s corrupt & evidence of collusion.

“You might think it’s OK that the president’s son-in-law sought to establish a secret back channel of communication with Russians through a Russian diplomatic facility,” he added. “I don’t think that’s OK. You might think it’s OK that an associate of the president made direct contact with the GRU through Guccifer 2.0 and WikiLeaks. You might think it’s OK that a senior campaign official was instructed to reach that associate and find out what that hostile intelligence agency had to say, in terms of dirt on his opponent. You might think it’s OK that the national security adviser-designate secretly conferred with a Russian ambassador about undermining U.S. sanctions, and you might think it’s OK he lied about it to the FBI. You might say that’s all OK, that that’s just what you need to do to win. But I don’t think it’s OK. I think it’s immoral, I think it’s unethical, I think it’s unpatriotic and, yes, I think it’s corrupt, and evidence of collusion.”

I do not think that conduct, criminal or not, is OK,” concluded Schiff. “The day we do think that’s OK is the day we will look back and say that is the day America lost its way.”

Which Russians Are Allegedly Connected To President Donald Trump?

Was Russia and the Trump Campaign involved in a Quid Pro Quo?

Court Filings Show Donald Trump As Key Figure In Federal Investigations

Obstructing Justice

After taking office, Trump asked FBI Director James Comey to abandon the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election—which the FBI had already connected to Michael Flynn.
When Comey refused to alter course, Trump fired him.

Trump then admitted the firing was over “the Russia thing” in a televised interview. In a tweet months later, he stated that he “had to fire Michael Flynn because he lied to the FBI”— further affirming that he dismissed James Comey in an attempt to quash the FBI’s investigation.

Bottom line: Trump has repeatedly attempted to interfere in the Russia investigation, and admitted as much—that’s a clear case of obstructing justice.

Violating the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution

The Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause prohibits the president from accepting personal benefits from any foreign government or official.

Trump has retained his ownership interests in his family business while he is in office. Thus, every time a foreign official stays at a Trump hotel, or a foreign government approves a new Trump Organization project, or grants a trademark, Trump is in violation of the Constitution.

Advocating Violence and Undermining Equal Protection Under the Law

When Trump gave cover to the neo-Nazis who rioted in Charlottesville and murdered a protester, he violated his obligation to protect the citizenry against domestic violence.
When Trump encouraged police officers to rough up people they have under arrest, he violated his obligation to oversee faithful execution of the laws.

When Trump shared anti-Muslim content on Twitter, he violated his obligation to uphold equal protection of the laws.
This represents a pattern of disregard for some of the president’s basic responsibilities as defined by the Constitution.

Bottom line: Trump has demonstrated a pattern of behavior amounting to advocating violence, undercutting equal protection, and, as a result, failing basic Constitutional duties.

George Wallace: Donald Trump’s predecessor in attacking the media

Abusing the Pardon Power

President Trump’s decision to pardon Joe Arpaio amounted to an abuse of the pardon power that revealed his indifference to individual rights and equal protections.

Joe Arpaio was convicted for contempt of court after ignoring a court order that he stop detaining and searching people based on the color of their skin, which constitutes a violation of their rights.
Pardoning this conviction goes against the Fifth Amendment, which allows the judiciary to issue and enforce injunctions against government officials who flout individual rights.

Bottom line: Trump’s pardon of Joe Arpaio violates the Fifth Amendment and harms the guarantee of Constitutional rights.

Engaging in Conduct that Grossly Endangers the Peace and Security of the United States

High-ranking administration officials involved in foreign affairs have signaled that Trump does not have the capacity to make informed decisions in the event of a military crisis.
Even worse, his actions could spark a needless confrontation stemming from misunderstanding or miscalculation.
We see this in full effect every time Trump tweets or makes a public statement taunting and threatening the North Korean regime.

The president may be the “Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States,” but that does not give him the right to behave in reckless or wanton ways that put millions of lives at risk.

If he is unfit to perform his duties as Commander in Chief, he cannot be allowed to remain in the position.

Cruelly and Unconstitutionally Imprisoning Children and their Families

Enforcing its new “zero tolerance” policy, the Trump administration separated as many as 3,000 immigrant children from their parents at the southern border. This policy was meant to deter families from attempting to cross the border.

The children and their families have been held in internment camps and cages with what lawyers call “inhumane conditions”
Due to negligence, the Trump administration has no plan to reunite all children with their families, even deporting some parents while their children remain detained.

US Intelligence Chiefs Contradict Trump

U.S. intelligence agency officials went before Congress and contradicted Trump’s stances on ISIS, Iran and North Korea. They also warned about the interests between Russia and China

Trump shows ‘willful ignorance’ on intelligence

Citing multiple in-person episodes, intelligence officials say Trump displays what one called “willful ignorance” when presented with analyses generated by intelligence services. The officials describe futile attempts to keep his attention by using visual aids, confining some briefing points to two or three sentences, and repeating his name and title as frequently as possible.

What is most troubling, say these officials and others in government and on Capitol Hill who have been briefed on the episodes, are Trump’s angry reactions when he is given information that contradicts positions he has taken or beliefs he holds. Two intelligence officers even reported that they have been warned to avoid giving the President intelligence assessments that contradict stances he has taken in public.

https://shareblue.com/it-just-seems-wrong-gop-rep-admits-tax-scam-he-voted-for-rips-off-working-people/

Rep. Tom Cole knows the GOP tax scheme will hurt working Americans — but his colleagues told him to vote for it anyway. So he did.

There’s not much to like about the GOP tax scheme. The bill, drafted hurriedly and under the cover of darkness, is wildly unpopular among the American people and economists alike, with little to offer other than corporate giveaways and tax cuts for the rich.

But that didn’t stop Republicans like Rep. Tom Cole from voting for it — even though he admitted in a recent interview that “it just seems wrong” that the scam is, quite simply, a massive giveaway to the rich paid for by working class Americans.

Speaking with CNBC, Cole conceded that he’s not much of a “deep economic thinker” and didn’t pay much attention to those fancy tax analyses conducted by non-partisan agencies, almost all of which excoriated the bill for increasing the federal deficit without boosting economic growth.

“He doesn’t know what the models are,” CNBC noted, “but doesn’t worry much about that.”

Instead of turning to things like evidence and numbers, Cole relied on his GOP colleagues to tell him how to vote on the bill, which delivers massive tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans but offers little else for the rest of the population. Cole likes the way his colleagues think, and it was apparently easier to listen to their reassurances than to grapple with all those pesky facts and figures.

Per the above article; The fossil fuel industry is a poster child for corporate welfare.

“Federal subsidies and tax breaks prop up fossil fuel development, even when drilling projects should be too expensive to turn a profit. Below-market leasing rates, royalties and fees subsidize oil and gas companies, encouraging them to exploit our public lands and leaving taxpayers on the hook for the environmental damage.

In the “Build Back Better” Act, Congress has an opportunity to make oil and gas corporations play by the same rules as everyone else. The House has included common-sense oil and gas reforms in its version of the bill, and the Senate should follow suit.

Taxpayers should get a fair return from oil and gas companies that drill on publicly owned lands and waters. The House bill would make this change. Right now, these polluters pay below-market rates to extract resources that belong to all Americans.

The federal government’s current 12.5% royalty rate for onshore drilling was established by the Mineral Leasing Act of 1920. It has not been updated for more than a century, even where technological advances have reduced the financial risk of drilling. By contrast, states are far more aggressive in ensuring their taxpayers are not ripped off — even states that tend to be friendly to fossil fuel companies — with Wyoming and Utah collecting about 17% in royalties and Texas going as high as 25%.

Modernizing the federal royalty rate would provide huge benefits to Americans. Taxpayers lost out on more than $12 billion over the past decade because polluters weren’t paying fair market rates for drilling on public lands and waters, according to Taxpayers for Common Sense. Recovering these dollars would enable Congress to allocate more money to other programs in the bill, including those that protect the environment and make it easier for families to afford the rising costs of childcare, pre-K and higher education.

The House’s Build Back Better Act also closes a legal loophole that leaves taxpayers, instead of oil and gas companies, on the hook for cleaning up shut-down wells. Under the current requirements, the bonding coverage that polluters purchase up front to make sure environmental remediation costs are paid doesn’t come close to covering the actual cleanup costs. In effect, that means that oil and gas companies can profit off pollution, then leave taxpayers to deal with the mess they leave behind”.

Republicans War On The Poor and Working Families

Robert Reich connects the dots to expose Republicans War on the Poor and Working Families including their opposition to minimum wage, unemployment insurance, food stamps and more.

Republicans are constantly demonizing the poor by claiming their lazy and don’t work.  Millions of people who are poor work full time in low paying jobs, such as those in the food service industry at places like McDonalds, Taco Bell, etc.  Just because these jobs are low paying doesn’t mean they are not important.  We couldn’t function as a society if no one was willing to work these jobs.

The above video exposes how Republicans are hypocrites who engage in, and condone Socialism for the Rich in the form of corporate bails-outs, tax payer funded sports stadiums, farm subsidies (22 billion in 2019 when Trump was President), but harsh “pull yourself by up by your own bootstraps” Capitalism for everyone else.

Republicans are demanding stricter work requirements in the debt ceiling fight, which also include GOP demands for cuts targeting the poor. “You’re taking people off of SNAP, off of food stamps, and Medicaid,” MSNBC’s Ali Velhi tells Joy Reid. “What kind of country is looking to have fewer people have enough.”

Fox Guest Compares Poor People To Dogs Who Are Only Obedient When They’re Hungry

A Fox News guest this past week may have accidentally let the cat out of the bag when he said that poor people have it too good by receiving extended unemployment benefits, then drew a parallel to military dogs who are only obedient to commands when they are hungry. This is what the Right wants for America – a country so starving and desperate that they will do anything their masters ask them to do.

House Republicans tried to pass H.R. 5003, misleadingly titled “Child Nutrition and Education Act of 2016”, a bill which would inevitably take free school lunches away from poor schools and children.

A new study shows that despite the makers vs. takers rhetoric pushed by many Republicans, red states are the most dependent on government programs.

Republicans Don’t Care about the Poor

Paul Ryan’s attitude about poor people is typical of most Republicans. His idea of helping the poor is to completely eliminate food stamps, social security, medicare and medicaid.

Paul Ryan frequently talks about “taker & makers”.  If anyone is a “taker”, it’s Paul Ryan and Republican politicians who’s been on the public dole their entire life and does nothing to help average Joe Americans.

Paul Ryan has been dreaming about cutting Medicaid Since College

REPUBLICAN Paul Ryan stated; “The reason I got involved in public service, by and large, if I had to credit one thinker, one person, it would be Ayn Rand .” That’s freshly minted GOP vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan talking — statements he would eventually recant — at a party celebrating what would have been the prolific author’s 100th birthday…”. Did Rand, a libertarian darling, idolize serial killer Walter Edward Hickman?

Paul Ryan’s anti-poverty agenda is a SHAM. His idea of helping the poor is to completely eliminate food stamps, social security, medicare and medicaid.

ALL Republicans are in principle against government programs and Paul Ryan is no different. They vilify government programs by calling them “socialism” and “communism”.

us-gov-spening

This chart shows where all of the money is going. There would be plenty of money for Healthcare and to help the Poor if so much wasn’t being wasted on the military.

Since 2001, the United States has been spending 900 Million a week in Afghanistan. Republicans has no problem spending trillions on the military, bombs and wars, but they want to cut programs like food stamps, medicare, social security, etc which benefits regular Americans and the poor.

Pentagon buries evidence of $125 billion in bureaucratic waste

The military feared Congress would use the confidential data as an excuse to slash defense spending.

Republicans have no problem spending trillions of dollars on the military and wars, but they want to cut programs like food stamps, medicare, social security, etc which benefits regular Americans and the poor.

As shown in the above graph, the United States spends more on the military than Russia, China, the UK and 11 more countries COMBINED.

Our military should be used for the DEFENSE of this country only and unless we are attacked, all troops should be brought home… no more using our troops to police the world.

Unnecessary wars, trillions wasted on the military and Tax Breaks for the Rich is why we’re trillions in debt and have crumbling infrastructure.

You don’t see ISIS attacking countries like Sweden because they mind their own business.  If we had minded our own business since WW II and not gotten involved in wars in View Nam, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc we wouldn’t be trillions of dollars in debt and have crumbling infrastructure.

Congressman Who Gets Millions In Farm Subsidies: Food Stamps Stealing ‘Other People’s Money – Rep. Stephen Fincher (R-TN) agitated against food aid for poor Americans included in the Farm Bill during last week’s House Agricultural Committee debate, accusing the government of stealing “other people’s money.” Funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has already been decimated in both the House and Senate versions of the Farm Bill, cutting off nearly 2 million working families, children, and seniors from food assistance.

Fincher invoked the Bible in his defense of the devastating cuts, quoting, “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” Read the whole story here

Congressman Quotes Jesus In Bid To Gut Food Stamps

While Republican Stephen Fincher cites chapter and verse to prove that it is immoral for out of work folks to mooch off government largesse, he fails to mention that his own fingers have been observed in the public till.

Farm Subsidy Recipients Who Voted to Cut Food Stamps

GOP’s definition of freedom means freedom from Social Security and affordable Health Care for most families and even freedom from necessary food-assistance benefits for about 170,000 veterans.

Republicans Take Hypocritical Stance In Food Stamp Debate

House Agriculture Committee Republicans who vocally supported billions in cuts to federal food assistance are big-time recipients of government help in the form of farm subsidies.

Reps. Stephen Fincher (R-Tenn.) and Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.) both cited the Bible last week to argue that while individual Christians have a responsibility to feed the poor, the federal government does not.

The Fincher That Stole Food Stamps

The second most heavily subsidized farmer in Congress said Washington should not “steal” from taxpayers to support food assistance like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program — better known as food stamps.

Republicans are for “welfare for the Wealthy” and they want to continue spending trillions on the military. We should cut military spending in half and in doing so there would enough money to take care of All Americans, including the homeless.

Cutting assistance to the poor is in direct opposition to Christ’s teachings.

Matthew 25:40 says “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”.

Matthew 25:31-46 says “For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’’

Republicans constantly site the bible to rationalize their every day actions, but are hypocrites by doing everything possible to take away assistance to the poor.

Cutting assistance to the poor is in direct violation of Christ’s teachings. Republican Christian Religious Fanatics are some of the biggest hypocrites in the world.

Republicans are Enemies Of the Poor and Middle Class

If you make less that $30,000 a year you would be crazy to vote for Republicans.  Like Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney said” I’m not concerned about the poor”.

Republicans REFUSE to increase taxes on the rich but want to increase taxes on the poor.  There are many corporations which pays no taxes at all and Republicans refuse to do anything about it.   Republicans are protectors of the rich and do not care about the middle class and the poor.

If you have any low income republican friends, try to make them understand they are being used and they need to STOP voting for republicans.

Republicans want to take away Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare. Don’t let them!  ALL Republicans should be fired
