Al Gore received a 543,895 Vote Majority over George W. Bush. If there were a REAL Democracy in the United States, Al Gore would have been President and the Supreme Court would have & should have been Liberal because Bush appointed 2 Justices.

On January 20, 2009, the day of President Obama’s Inauguration, Republican Leaders in Congress plotted to obstruct everything President Obama proposed to make his presidency a failure, in what has become known as the “Caucus Room Conspiracy“, so he and Democrats would be blamed, so Republicans could re-take Congress and the White House in 2012, with no regard to the damage it would cause to the American people.

Obama was President when Antonin Scalia died. Obama chose Merrick Garland as Scalia’s replacement. They’re excuse was “the people should decide by electing the next President”.

Now, the politicized Supreme Court is enacting a far-right, partisan agenda that favors corporate interests and Republican Party special interests. Reproductive freedom, civil rights, environmental justice, common sense gun safety laws, and our right to vote are all at risk. And the Court has eroded confidence in our system of government with ethical lapses and lack of transparency.

Supreme Court Justices should be appointed by Presidents who were elected to office by the majority of Americans so their viewpoints reflects the majority. George W. Bush was not elected to office by the Americans people but was installed into office by a Partisan Supreme Court and by his brother’s administration (Florida Gov Jeb Bush) which illegally purged thousands of voters to help him win. He also received almost 600,000 votes less than his opponent so he was a Illegitimate President.
Since Trump was helped by a Foreign Government AND he received almost 3 million less votes than his opponent he is also a illegitimate President. He was under investigation for serious offenses during his presidency so he should not have been allowed to make any appointments while under investigation.
The American people should not have to pay, years to come for Republicans abuse of power, corruption and failure to do what is right, fair and just. They should not have to be stuck with Justices such as Brett Kavanaugh and others for life, appointed by Presidents not elected to office by the majority. That includes Neil Gorsuch who was installed as a Supreme Court Justice by unscrupulous partisan means against the will of the people.
No where in the constitution does it say Justices must be appointed for life. Lifetime appointments should be illegal because it’s equivalent to installing un-elected and unaccountable monarchs.
Our government needs to be revamped so we have a REAL Democracy which eliminates Gerrymandering, Voter Obstruction, the Electoral College and lifetime Judicial appointments.
The wrongs which have been done to the American people should be rectified. When democrats achieve a overwhelming majority and has control of the Presidency, Senate and House as they surely will at some point in the future, they should pass laws which eliminate the Electoral College, laws eliminating lifetime Judicial appointments and laws legalizing the removal of Judiciary appointments including those made by Bush & Trump.
Democrats with a overwhelming majority, have the right to Alter the Government as stated in the Declaration of Independence; “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government“.
In the meantime, Democrats need to stand up and fight for Democracy… to call out and expose Republicans for the UN-Democratic, Fascist, Authoritarians which they are.

Bucking other US leaders, Trump has dismissed credible allegations that Putin uses violence against his opponents. Trump said in 2015, “I think it would be despicable if that took place, but I haven’t seen any evidence that he killed anybody, in terms of reporters.” Asked again in February 2017, Trump deflected, saying, “There are a lot of killers. Do you think our country is so innocent?”
Trump mulled giving spy compounds to Russia
The Washington Post reported in May 2017 that the Trump administration considered returning two diplomatic compounds to Russia. The Obama administration expelled Russian diplomats and seized the compounds in New York and Maryland after the 2016 election, claiming they were used for “intelligence” purposes. The compounds were never returned to Russia.

In a shocking move during the early months of his presidency, Trump shared highly classified intelligence with two senior Russian officials during an Oval Office meeting in May 2017. The intelligence, which was about ISIS, was sensitive enough that it could have exposed a vulnerable source. The unplanned disclosure by Trump rattled even many of his Republican allies.

Lawmakers passed a bipartisan bill in July 2017 imposing new sanctions against Russia, even though Trump administration officials reportedly tried to water down the language. In a bipartisan rebuke, 11 Senate Republicans supported a Democratic resolution calling for the sanctions to remain.

Trump announced in October 2019 that US troops were withdrawing from northern Syria. The abrupt move cleared the way for Turkey to conquer territories previously controlled by the US and allied Kurdish militias. It also gave Russia a golden opportunity to expand its influence and swiftly take over abandoned US outposts and checkpoints. Trump’s move was a boon for Putin.

After announcing the Syria withdrawal, Trump repeated Kremlin talking points about ISIS. He said, “Russia hates ISIS as much as the United States does” and that they are equal partners in the fight. But Trump’s comments don’t reflect the reality on the ground: Since intervening in Syria in 2015, the Russian military has focused its airstrikes on anti-government rebels, not ISIS.

Per the above article: “A Democratic Congress and a future Democratic president could remove Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court if they wanted without needing to impeach him. There are two other ways to kick a sitting justice off the court – neither of which requires a supermajority.
In the first, a new president would nominate and the Senate would confirm by majority vote a justice – in this case Kavanaugh – to a different post on an intermediate court of appeals (say the D.C. Circuit, where Kavanaugh formerly served). The justice would, in effect, be demoted.
It finds support in an 1803 Supreme Court case called Stuart v. Laird. The fading Federalist Party of John Adams had created 16 new federal judgeships in 1801 – in part to spare Supreme Court justices from having to “ride the circuit” and hear regional appellate cases. Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic-Republicans triumphed at the polls and abolished the new positions in 1802.
The second alternative method of relieving a justice of his or her duties. In a 2006 article in the Yale Law Journal, two scholars (conservatives, as it happens), Saikrishna Prakash and Steven D. Smith, amassed historical evidence that the Framers understood the “good behavior” standard to be judicially, rather than just politically, enforceable.
They pointed out that judicial removal proceedings were used in English law in the 1780s, and were included in the New York, South Carolina and Massachusetts pre-1787 constitutions. Moreover, they noted, “good behavior” was included by the Continental Congress as a standard in the 1787 Northwest Ordinance for courts in the territories – before there were a separate House and Senate to conduct an impeachment.
As (roughly) proposed in the Yale article, Congress could pass a statute authorizing a specially constituted bench of federal judges – say, five randomly drawn judges – to determine whether a particular judge (here, Kavanaugh) had violated the “good behavior” standard. That special bench could hold a hearing and, if convinced by the evidence, make the requisite finding to trigger exit from the bench. This approach wouldn’t require a congressional supermajority. It would need a presidential signature.
Current federal law contains a trace of this mechanism. When a judge is convicted of a felony, whether in state or federal court, the law now states that he or she “shall not hear or decide cases” unless a council of judges decides otherwise. To be sure, the judge keeps a salary in the interim. But the judge is effectively sidelined – as completely as if he or she were impeached.
The creation of a new vehicle for judicial peer review seems to be the optimal option, as it would create a nonpartisan, procedurally robust device for disciplining judges.
Supreme Court justices right now have no real supervisors when it comes to ethics, and impeachment has come to seem excessively partisan. A standing body, available for all cases of misconduct – not just a ticket for one ride only – would resolve that problem, no matter who the appointing president.

They should not have to be stuck with Justices such as Brett Kavanaugh and others for life, appointed by Presidents not elected to office by the majority. That includes Neil Gorsuch who was installed as a Supreme Court Justice by unscrupulous partisan means against the will of the people.
No where in the constitution does it say Justices must be appointed for life. Lifetime appointments should be illegal because it’s equivalent to installing un-elected and unaccountable monarchs.
Our government needs to be revamped so we have a REAL Democracy which eliminates Gerrymandering, Voter Obstruction, the Electoral College and lifetime Judicial appointments.
The wrongs which have been done to the American people should be rectified. When democrats achieve a overwhelming majority and has control of the Presidency, Senate and House as they surely will at some point in the future, they should pass laws which eliminate the Electoral College, laws eliminating lifetime Judicial appointments and laws legalizing the removal of Judiciary appointments including those made by Bush & Trump.
Democrats with a overwhelming majority, have the right to Alter the Government as stated in the Declaration of Independence; “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government“.

2003-2007 – Failure to Report Wife’s Income
Thomas’ wife, attorney and conservative activist Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, has been at the center of many controversies surrounding her husband, starting with claims that Thomas failed to report more than $686,000 in income that Ginni earned while she worked at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.

It takes time for the army who is gathering for his back,” she wrote in one of the messages.
Ginni also messaged at least 29 Arizona lawmakers urging them to throw out Joe Biden’s victory in the state and choose presidential electors that would support Trump. “Never before in our nation’s history have our elections been so threatened by fraud and unconstitutional procedures,” she wrote in one of the emails.
2023 – Undisclosed Luxury Gifts
On April 6, 2023, ProPublica reported that Thomas and his wife had taken undisclosed luxury trips from Republican mega-donor Harlan Crow for more than two decades and also spent time at Crow’s private resort and exclusive retreats.

“The New Yorker’s Jane Mayer profiled Thomas’ wife, Ginni, a longtime conservative operative and lobbyist, and revealed how her lobbying firm was on the payroll of far-right activist Frank Gaffney’s Center for Security Policy. Gaffney and others submitted an amicus brief to the court in 2017 in support of the Trump administration’s travel ban, arguing that “the challenge of Islam must be confronted.”
Shockingly, Thomas did not recuse himself from the case given the clear financial conflict. He never even disclosed the $200,000 paid to his wife despite being required to report the source of a spouse’s income as part of his annual financial disclosures, according to The New Yorker. Thomas would later join his fellow four conservative justices in voting to uphold Trump’s shameful Muslim ban.
In February, The New York Times Magazine reported that Ginni Thomas served on the board of a secretive right-wing group called CNP Action. In November 2020, it circulated a “November ‘action steps’ document” instructing its members in the days after the election “to pressure Republican lawmakers into challenging the election results and appointing alternate slates of electors,” according to the report.
But when former President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court to block the House Jan. 6 committee from obtaining hundreds of pages of White House records from the National Archives, Thomas was the sole justice to vote against the House investigators.
Then on Monday, in an interview with a conservative blog, Ginni Thomas admitted to having attended the “Stop the Steal” rally at the Ellipse on Jan. 6, 2021. She admitted to being in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, thereby endorsing that day’s Trump-led rally to overturn the election, but she claimed to have left before Trump addressed the crowd because she “got cold.”
To recap: These reports showed that the wife of a Supreme Court justice not only took undisclosed money from an activist who filed a brief in front of the court, but that she was also part of a campaign to try to overturn the 2020 election result and attended the rally that preceded the attack on the Capitol. And as Ginni Thomas herself helpfully explained in Monday’s interview: “Like so many married couples, we share many of the same ideals, principles, and aspirations for America.”
Ridiculously, Clarence Thomas wants us to believe he can carry on as an associate justice and remain above the fray. In September, speaking at the University of Notre Dame, he railed against growing criticisms of the court’s partisan behavior. If he really wanted to avoid looking like a politician, why allow his wife’s political activism and income streams to have even the appearance of an impact on his decisions instead of recusing himself?”

Justice Clarence Thomas’ head-scratching, jaw-dropping dissents
Just because Justice Clarence Thomas has a reputation for staying silent on the bench, doesn’t mean the polarizing conservative didn’t apply his own brand of knotty logic in his written dissent of the court’s rulings.
Here are two head-scratching, jaw-dropping examples of Thomas’ recent logical gymnastics at work.
Discrimination exists, we just have to live with it
In the case dealing with the Fair Housing Act, the Supreme Court ruled that the law constitutionally protects against actions that lead to discriminatory results — known as disparate impact — in addition to implicit discrimination. Here’s a nugget from Thomas’ dissent.
“Racial imbalances do not always disfavor minorities … [I]n our own country, for roughly a quarter-century now, over 70 percent of National Basketball Association players have been black. To presume that these and all other measurable disparities are products of racial discrimination is to ignore the complexities of human existence.”
Thomas appears to be saying that, sure, there’s plenty of discrimination floating around but it’d be unfair to chalk it all up to racism. Just look at the NBA. They’re fine, even though most players are black.
In making that point, Thomas fails to acknowledge the actual application of disparate impact claims. Just because the NBA employs a majority of black players doesn’t mean that there is discrimination at work — or that a white player would file a suit to claim as much. Even if that were to happen, the courts would then still have to determine whether the claims of disparate impact discrimination were valid and violated the law. So merely claiming that, in some industries, for instance, minorities have a majority stake apparently does nothing to address the actual application of the law.
But there is one aspect of Thomas’ argument that is indisputable: A majority of NBA players are black.
Your dignity is not the government’s problem
In a win for marriage equality advocates around the country, the court ruled that all states must license and recognize same-sex marriage — regardless of state laws or where the marriages were performed. Justice Anthony Kennedy notably used the word “dignity” nine times in his 34-page opinion. Thomas had a different take on the issue of dignity.
“The corollary of that principle is that human dignity cannot be taken away by the government. Slaves did not lose their dignity (any more than they lost their humanity) because the government allowed them to be enslaved. Those held in internment camps did not lose their dignity because the government confined them. And those denied governmental benefits certainly do not lose their dignity because the government denies them those benefits. The government cannot bestow dignity, and it cannot take it away.”
Despite being beaten, raped, and treated as subhuman property — all while living under a government that ostensibly permitted such treatment — slaves either did not lose their dignity at all or, in a broader reading, they can’t blame the government for any loss of dignity. Basically, not the government’s fault, Thomas appears to be saying.

I would also try to change the subject to education matters or to non-sexual personal matters, such as his background or his beliefs.” Hill also claimed Thomas stated “there is a pubic hair in my Coke” and that he spoke of “Long Dong Silver“.

Per the above article: “A Democratic Congress and a future Democratic president could remove Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court if they wanted without needing to impeach him. There are two other ways to kick a sitting justice off the court – neither of which requires a supermajority.
In the first, a new president would nominate and the Senate would confirm by majority vote a justice – in this case Kavanaugh – to a different post on an intermediate court of appeals (say the D.C. Circuit, where Kavanaugh formerly served). The justice would, in effect, be demoted.
It finds support in an 1803 Supreme Court case called Stuart v. Laird. The fading Federalist Party of John Adams had created 16 new federal judgeships in 1801 – in part to spare Supreme Court justices from having to “ride the circuit” and hear regional appellate cases. Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic-Republicans triumphed at the polls and abolished the new positions in 1802.
The second alternative method of relieving a justice of his or her duties. In a 2006 article in the Yale Law Journal, two scholars (conservatives, as it happens), Saikrishna Prakash and Steven D. Smith, amassed historical evidence that the Framers understood the “good behavior” standard to be judicially, rather than just politically, enforceable.
They pointed out that judicial removal proceedings were used in English law in the 1780s, and were included in the New York, South Carolina and Massachusetts pre-1787 constitutions. Moreover, they noted, “good behavior” was included by the Continental Congress as a standard in the 1787 Northwest Ordinance for courts in the territories – before there were a separate House and Senate to conduct an impeachment.
As (roughly) proposed in the Yale article, Congress could pass a statute authorizing a specially constituted bench of federal judges – say, five randomly drawn judges – to determine whether a particular judge (here, Kavanaugh) had violated the “good behavior” standard. That special bench could hold a hearing and, if convinced by the evidence, make the requisite finding to trigger exit from the bench. This approach wouldn’t require a congressional supermajority. It would need a presidential signature.
Current federal law contains a trace of this mechanism. When a judge is convicted of a felony, whether in state or federal court, the law now states that he or she “shall not hear or decide cases” unless a council of judges decides otherwise. To be sure, the judge keeps a salary in the interim. But the judge is effectively sidelined – as completely as if he or she were impeached.
The creation of a new vehicle for judicial peer review seems to be the optimal option, as it would create a nonpartisan, procedurally robust device for disciplining judges.
Supreme Court justices right now have no real supervisors when it comes to ethics, and impeachment has come to seem excessively partisan. A standing body, available for all cases of misconduct – not just a ticket for one ride only – would resolve that problem, no matter who the appointing president.
It’s Time to Retire Lifetime Appointments for Supreme Court Justices
When Supreme Court justices enter a room, you can feel the air change.
As stated in the above article, there’s nothing in the Constitution that explicitly promises federal judges “lifetime appointments.” The language of Article III says justices “shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour,”.
The Constitution was written at a time when surviving infancy was a triumph—let alone making it to the Supreme Court with enough time for a 30-plus-year stint on the bench.
“The people who created the Constitution of the United States in the 18th century lived in a very different world than we live in,” said Michael Sappol, a historian and author of A Traffic of Dead Bodies, a book about death and social identity. “The idea that judges would get life appointments had a different kind of meaning then than it does now.”
As more Americans live longer, institutions like the Supreme Court are undergoing profound change. In other words, a lifetime isn’t what it used to be. And plenty of people have argued that the highest court in the land ought to be subject to some of the restrictions that lower-level U.S. courts and top courts in other countries already have in place. “Every place else in the world they have age limits or term limits,” says Paul Carrington, a law professor at Duke University.
The five most recently retired Supreme Court justices averaged more than 25 years apiece on the bench. That’s nearly triple the nine-year average tenure of the court’s first five justices.
Justices of the Supreme Court should be allowed to serve for a maximum of 12 years. NO ONE should be guaranteed a job for life. Anyone appointed should be non-political and not affiliated with any political party.

The Sinclair Broadcast Group, a pro-Trump media company that owns nearly 200 local stations around the country and regularly seeds them with right-wing talking points, is backing away from political commentary, according to NBC News.
In a statement sent out to staff Wednesday, the company said it will nix current political commentary segments and dedicate the time to “local investigative journalism.” The most high-profile casualty of the change is Boris Epshteyn, a former Trump campaign staffer who used his “Bottom Line” segment to push the Trump agenda. In one particularly incendiary bit, Epshteyn, who will be transitioned to a “sales role” at Sinclair, said immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border were attempting an “invasion of our country.”

The Oath of Office does not require a promise of future action, it demands that elected representatives swear that he holds a certain belief at that very moment, loyalty to the Constitution ‘without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion as well as to faithfully discharge the duties of the office they have entered 401 U.S. 154 S. Ct.(1971) LAW STUDENTS CIVIL RIGHTS RESEARCH COUNCIL, INC., ET AL. v. WADMOND ET AL.
It is clear that a large number of Republicans has violated their Oath of Office and made agreements of promises and future action and mental reservation of future action and inaction which violated their of their Oath of Office.
Each and every Republican who engaged in actions which violated their Oath of Office should be held accountable, removed from office and prosecuted. These Republicans are not just failing to perform their jobs, they’re doing the opposite of what they swore to do.

Emails reveal disdainful attitudes within the department to the trio’s meddling.”

The election of 2016 may well have been stolen — or to use Donald Trump’s oft-repeated phrase — “rigged,” and nobody in the media seems willing to discuss it.
The rigging was a pretty simple process, in fact: in 27 Republican-controlled states (including critical swing states) hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of people showed up to vote, but were mysteriously blocked from voting for allegedly being registered with the intent to vote in multiple states.
Greg Palast, an award-winning investigative journalist, writes a stinging piece in Rolling Stone magazine (August 2016 edition), predicting that the presidential election had already been decided: “The GOP’s Stealth War Against Voters.” He also wrote and produced a brilliant documentary on this exact subject that was released well before the election, titled The Best Democracy Money Can Buy.
He said a program called the Interstate Voter Registration Crosscheck had been quietly put together in Kansas and was being used by Republican secretaries of state in 27 states to suppress and purge African American, Asian and Hispanic votes in what would almost certainly be the swing states of the 2016 election.
Crosscheck was started by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach back in 2007 under the guise of combating so-called voter fraud. In the ultimate thumb in the eye to the American voter, the state where Crosscheck started was the only state to refuse to participate in a New York Times review of voter fraud in the 2016 election, which found that, basically, there wasn’t any fraud at the level of individual voters. Turns out, according to Palast, that a total of 7 million voters—including up to 344,000 in Pennsylvania, 589,000 in North Carolina and up to 449,000 in Michigan (based on available Crosscheck data from 2014)—may have been denied the right to have their votes counted under this little known but enormously potent Crosscheck program.

In the above video, a computer programmer (Clint Curtis) testified to a congressional committee that in October of 2000, he wrote a program for a prominent Florida Republican (Tom Feeney, who was Speaker of the House, per testimony in the above video) which could flip votes and be undetectable. In September 2006, Feeney was named one of the “20 Most Corrupt Members of Congress”.
This shows Republicans history of efforts to rig / flip elections so it would be undetectable.
Note how this machine is rigged for Romney in 2012. It appears when a voting machine is rigged, it’s usually rigged for a Republican. Most companies which makes voting machine are owned by Republican owners.
UPDATE: Jan 24, 2007 Two election workers in the state’s most populous county were convicted of illegally rigging the 2004 presidential election recount so they could avoid a more thorough review of the votes.
Jacqueline Maiden, the elections’ coordinator who was the board’s third-highest ranking employee when she was indicted last March, and ballot manager Kathleen Dreamer each were convicted of a felony count of negligent misconduct of an elections employee.
Maiden and Dreamer also were convicted of one misdemeanor count each of failure of elections employees to perform their duty. Both Maiden & Dreamer got 18 months in prison.

National Enquirer Helped Elect Trump
Trump has been charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records after a Manhattan grand jury voted to indict him for his alleged role in arranging a hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.
On 26 October 2016, 11 days before election day, Michael Cohen initiated a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels, an adult film star who said she had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006. While prosecutors have identified two other hush-money payments to people who said they had stories about Trump, one a former Trump Tower doorman and the other Karen McDougal a former Playboy model, the actual charges for the case stem just from Daniels’ payments. That’s because the other hush-money payments were made by American Media, the parent company of the tabloid National Enquirer. Leaders of the company, especially the then CEO, David Pecker, were close allies of Trump and told him early in his campaign that they would help him with any scandalous stories that might come out about him.
But Trump paid Daniels himself, albeit through Cohen. Each of the 34 counts of falsifying business records represents a document that prosecutors said included hush-money payments masked as legal fees to Cohen.
Falsifying Business Records in the Second Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
N.Y. Penal Law § 175.05: This statute makes it unlawful to intentionally:
- make a false business record;
- cause a false business record to be made;
- alter or erase a truthful entry in a business record;
- omit a truthful statement from a business record; or
- prevent a truthful statement from being made.
Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree (Class E Felony)
N.Y. Penal Law § 175.10: Falsifying business records in the first degree has all of the same requirements as falsifying a business record in the second degree. However, first degree charges requires intent to defraud through the commission of an additional crime–like using your false business record to carry out tax fraud.
Falsifying business records involves intentionally creating, altering, or destroying documents related to a business or organization. This can include financial records, invoices, contracts, inventory reports, or any other official documentation. The purpose behind falsification can vary, but it often aims to misrepresent financial health, hide illegal activities, or gain an advantage such as tax evasion. The new head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is making the agency less aggressive in its mission. A new plan calls for it to fulfill “its statutory responsibilities, but go no further.”

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was created after the financial crisis to protect Americans from being ripped off by financial firms. It’s battled the big banks, predatory lenders, and big corporations on behalf of families.
Now, President Trump’s interim appointee to run the bureau, Mick Mulvaney, is making radical changes to deter the agency from aggressively pursuing its mission.
NPR reports that the CFPB will unveil a new strategic plan “to deter the agency from aggressively pursuing its mission to protect Americans from being ripped off by financial firms.”
An internal memo obtained by NPR says the CFPB on Monday will unveil a new strategic plan to that end. A “revised mission and vision of the bureau” for the years 2018 through 2022 will call upon the agency to “fulfill its statutory responsibilities but go no further.” It also says the bureau should be “acting with humility and moderation.”
This new direction is consistent with Mulvaney’s other memos and statements and formalizes his plans for defanging the watchdog bureau and reshaping its mission, according to insiders and experts that NPR has talked to.
Within weeks of coming on board, Mulvaney has worked to make the watchdog agency less aggressive. Under his leadership, the CFPB delayed a new payday lending regulation from going into effect and dropped an investigation into one payday lender that contributed to Mulvaney’s campaign. In another move that particularly upset some staffers, the new boss also dropped a lawsuit against an alleged online loan shark called Golden Valley Lending. The suit says the lender illegally charges people up to 950 percent interest rates. It took CFPB staffers years to build the case.
“People are devastated and angry — just imagine how you would feel if years of your life had been dedicated to pursuing justice and you lose everything,” says Christopher Peterson, a former Office of Enforcement attorney at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau who worked on this particular case early on.
